Mr Reggie: Hey everyone! Thanks for having me and hosting Gather!

Mrs Nguyet: Hey Sir, Welcome to VCM Community ❤️.

Mr Hubert: it’s a pleasure to all of you who participated in the ama today.

Mr Hubert: Could you briefly introduce about yourselves as well as your project?

Mr Reggie: Started my career in Oil and Gas managing a couple bases in and out of Iraq managing about 200 or so people, was there for about two years or so, ISIS invaded around the end of the two years. Post evacuating the staff. I decided I wanted to shift industries. — I ended up working in advertising for a bit — with different agencies — the first being MSLgroup ( Where I met our Marketing Advisor Naren ). Post this I had my first exposure to entrepreneurship. It was a startup similar to what Deliveroo is — provides the technology and riders, making deliveries for banks, supermarkets etc. Post this — I was hired as a consultant to help a website to help them figure out how to monetize. — That is where everything started.

It all started with the simple idea — what if users could provide a tiny bit of their processing power, instead of being bombarded with Ads. — This is how it all started. — The full picture of Gather is as follows:

Gather is a platform that allows publishers to monetize without ads, provides businesses & developers to access cheap and reliable processing power.

Gather Online (Layer 0) allows web & mobile developers to monetize from their users processing power.

Gather Network (Layer1) is the protocol layer, a hybrid proof of work and proof of stake blockchain, where stakeholders are incentivized to maintain transparency and security.

Gather Cloud (Layer 2) provides affordable processing power to enterprises and developers.

Gather Enterprise provides consultancy services and tooling for developers, businesses and crypto networks.

Mr Hubert: How wonderful, sir. The VCM audience is also eager to study the Gather Network project.

Let’s get to the first question we’d like to know from you.

What makes the gather network project stand out more than the projects in the same direction at the moment?

Mr Reggie: There is no direct competition in the sense of what we are building as a single marketplace based platform connecting publishers with enterprises & developers.

There are of course variations of the individual parts of the Gather network visible in other projects. For example Golem is a marketplace for processing power but requires user download and maintenance and large user input. Brave offers monetization but requires their browser to be used while Gather is browser/application agnostic.

With the modifications we have made to incorporate these individual parts into our platform to operate in a complementary manner, we dont believe there’s any project that is able to offer what Gather does as a complete package at this time.

Who are some business partner/clients for gather network?

Mr Reggie:

We have around 200 publishing partners via Early Adopters Program so far, including names like ThePioneer (India’s oldest newspaper), TheDailyChain (a crypto news site), Ferrum Network (for staking website and mobile app) and Decentr (as a new web browser).

We’re currently testing Gather Cloud with Godrej Industries ($4B+ turnover) and we got ASAP Industries on board for the enterprise side. Again for Gather Cloud, we are also building new connections with the other PoW blockchain teams where we can use their algorithms as part of our Merged Mining concept. For example, LUX chain is our first partner on this front.

What are the memorable milestones of gather network in the research and development process?

Mr Reggie: Our prototype is tested for about a year with early adopters, so we have a minimum viable product which we are further developing right now to adjust to our mainnet specs. Throughout the development, we have added new features that completes our product, such as merged mining for child chains and compute power as a service (CPaaS) for enterprises to build a complete solution for demand and supply.

For major dates we have the testnet v.01 shortly — this is just the process of mining $GTH via the browser and then merged mining takes place between the parent chain and child chain. Full test net is aimed for 3 months roughly from now and then a main net 6 months from now.

Mr Hubert: Feeling quite excited about this project, sir. I think everyone will love it and support it as well.

Mr Reggie: Thank you! we have had some good traction recently!

Mr Hubert: We to the last question of the Q-A segment: What does gather network plan to do to attract more users in the upcoming time?

Mr Reggie: We are currently putting heavy focus on development, as mentioned earlier we plan to bring our testnet live by the end of the year and mainnet live in 6 months.

Of course this does not mean we won’t do any marketing activities. As you witness here, we are organizing many AMAs to build grassroots communities which know about our project and the value it brings. The regions of both South and east Asia are very important to us, along with regions in Africa. The reason we are targeting said regions is because the payouts from advertising are much lower compared to the rest of the world. So it is easier to attract new websites and application from these regions.

Apart from community building activities, we will definitely be onboarding many new partners. We will be running campaigns to raise the awareness of Gather Online as we get closer to the mainnet launch but in the meantime we will carry on and bring more partners with our B2B marketing efforts, we will also continue adding new enterprises and child chains for Gather Cloud in the same manner.

The core product, Gather Online, actually sells itself as it provides a profitable and enhanced user experience compared to digital advertising. In addition to the campaigns we will organize, we believe the product will reach to a wider audience with the word-of-mouth effect. We are already having daily registrations to our early adopters program on our website (which is closed currently but we will contact these people when the program is back live).

Question 1. Gather Cloud provides processing power to organizations, developers, etc., but where does that processing power come from? Is it collected exclusively through Gather Online? Or are there additional sources of processing power?

It is mainly collected from Gather online ( Websites and applications ) and the master nodes network.

Q. can Your project share thoughts on what I mentioned above ?

does it have an impact on the value of Your project?

Gather has staking, burns and buy backs, However Gather is not Defi.

Question 3. I don’t know much about web-lite blockchain nodes, how do these nodes work and how do they differ from generic nodes? For what kind of purposes are these nodes used within the Gather Network?

Full nodes have a full copy of the blockchain, while also verifying hashes ( IE being “heavy” ) Where as lite nodes only verify hashes, hence the term lite nodes.

Question 4. How profitable is Gather Network as a content platform wiithout ads, What is the role of publishers and viewers in the economical model of the ecosystem?

With a CPC of .3 and CPM of 1 and Page view of 1, Gather pays 1,4x more than ads, In this ecosystem, viewers provide their processing power — which is then resold on to businesses and developers. This generates revenue for the website owners.

Question 5. — How can I integrate Gather into my website where I develop my content? Or do I need to upload the content directly using Gather Network?

- As a Youtuber, can I monetize using Gather Network? What options do content creators have to make our work more efficient than on Youtube?

Ill take the first part of this question: To use Gather — all you have to do is sign up and get whitelisted, once whitelisted you will be able to access to the admin panel, from there just generate the script tag and put in the backend of your website!
